Georgia Cyber Academy is unacceptable. Although we have had a wonderful teacher, the administration treats parents and learning coaches with total disrespect. My son has had inaccurate attendance records throughout the entire school year. As a result of inaccurate attendance records, he has been withdrawn from school. After addressing this problem with the Head of the School, she has discriminated against us and made it her duty to willfully and intentionally disrupt my child's education by withdrawing my child from school.
I have spoken to the Attendance Specialist, Bethany Dasher and Head of School, Angela Lassetter about incorrect attendance on several occasions and they have admitted that the attendance department have had difficulties and that my son would not be withdrawn from school. Since speaking with the Head of School, Angela Lassatter about correct my son's attendance, my son has received threatening notices of withdrawal. She has not returned my phone calls or emails to correct this matter. Neither has the attendance department. In addition, Angela Lassatter resigned from her position yesterday and I now have no recourse and she cannot be held accountable for attendance issues. This does not look good for Georgia Cyber Academy and we have been treated unfairly. My son's education has been interrupted and he is distraught, due to the fact that he is a participant in the talent show and now he cannot compete because he has been withdrawn from school.
Georgia Cyber Academy has failed to adhere to FERA guidelines, therefore they must be held accountable. There is a serious problem with administration and they have willfully and intentionally withdrawn my son due to their negligence to correct the attendance issues that they have been experiencing all year.
I would not recommend any parent or learning coach to place their student with Georgia Cyber Academy, until they address their administration errors.
